Who we are
Sluicio is system-integration monitoring built on the OpenTelemetry standard, operated by ROMA IT AB. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. For anything to do with your data or this policy, contact us at support@sluicio.com.
What we collect and store
When you use the contact form, you give us your name, work email address, an optional company name, and your message. We store that information in our own systems (inside WordPress) so we can read your enquiry and reply — nothing is emailed out to third parties. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs — such as IP address and browser type — for security and reliability. We do not run advertising or cross-site retargeting, and we do not buy or enrich your data from other sources.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use what you send us for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if relevant, to follow up about Sluicio. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us and, where your enquiry is a step toward doing business together, taking those pre-contractual steps at your request. You can ask us to delete your message at any time by emailing support@sluicio.com. We will not sell, rent, or trade your details, and we will not use them for unrelated marketing.
Your telemetry stays yours
Sluicio is self-hosted: you run it inside your own environment, and the OpenTelemetry data your systems emit is processed where you deploy Sluicio. Your traces, metrics, and logs are stored in your own databases, on your own disk — they are not sent to us or stored by us. If a hosted option becomes available later, we will explain exactly how that data is handled before you opt in to it.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies for visitors — no tracking pixels, no advertising, no fingerprinting. (WordPress sets a session cookie only if you sign in to the admin area, which visitors never do.)
To understand how the site is used, we run Plausible Analytics — self-hosted on infrastructure we operate ourselves, so usage data never leaves our own systems and is never shared with any third party. Plausible is built for privacy: it uses no cookies, stores no personal data, does not retain your IP address, and cannot follow you across other websites. What we see is aggregate only — page views, referrers, and rough geography — which is why this site needs no cookie banner.
How we protect your data
All traffic to and from this site is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We limit access to personal data to the few people who genuinely need it, and keep our systems and dependencies patched. We maintain an incident-response plan so that, in the unlikely event of a breach, we can contain it quickly and notify anyone affected as the law requires.
Where we store it
Your contact messages are stored with our hosting provider on infrastructure in Germany, within the European Union. Your data is not transferred outside the EU/EEA.
How long we keep it
We keep your contact message only while it is useful for answering you and following up, and no longer than necessary. You can ask us to remove it at any time and we will delete it promptly.
Who we share it with
We share your information with exactly one provider: the hosting company that runs this site's server, under an agreement that holds it to the standards in this policy. Nobody else receives it. We may disclose information where the law requires it. We never sell your data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data, which may include:
- access to the data we hold about you;
- correction of anything inaccurate;
- deletion of your data;
- a copy of your data in a portable format; and
- objecting to or restricting how we process it.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Sluicio grows or as the law changes. When we make a material change, we will update the date above.
